The
conference also aims to discuss related methodologies, directions and
other important scientific
issues. Special emphasis will be given to the progress in the tropical
regions due to the fact that most of the recently reported findings and
development in the area of water management and technology are conducted
or targeted towards countries with temperate climate. Public health and
water management issues in the tropics are more challenging due to the
high rainfall, high temperature and very diverse flora and fauna. Tropical
regions differ from the temperate in many aspects which is not only limited
to the temperature and biodiversity but more importantly the low-income
per capita. Hence policy and management issues will be the major subjects
for the conference.
The Conference will run in three parallel sessions for
three days. The topics to be covered are suggested below. It is by no means
exhaustive:
